Method

  • Rub the brisket with garlic powder, smoked paprika, brown sugar, salt and black pepper then place it in the slow cooker
  • Pour over BBQ sauce, beef stock and Worcestershire sauce
  • Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 - 5 hours, until tender
  • Remove the brisket from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks
  • Toss is back into the sauce to soak up all the flavour

To serve

  • Toast the brioche buns
  • Pile the shredded BBQ brisket onto each bun and top with coleslaw before serving

Ingredients

  • 1 kg Northern Ireland Farm Quality Assured beef brisket
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 250 ml BBQ sauce
  • 100 ml beef stock
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce

To serve

  • 4 brioche or soft burger buns
  • 200 g coleslaw store bought, or homemade
