Method

  • Boil pasta in salted water 10 - 15 minutes until tender, chill, reserve
  • In a large pot brown the vegetables and beef mince in vegetable oil
  • Add butter to the same pot and melt before folded in flour
  • Cook the flour for a few minutes before adding the milk
  • Bring the mixture to the boil and simmer 10 mins
  • Fold in the macaroni pasta
  • Serve the macaroni individually and garnish with optional herbs and cheese
  • Alternatively you can transfer to a large casserole dish and gratinate in the oven with some fresh cheese
  • This can be served family style on the table where everyone can dig in

  • 500 g Beef mince
  • 1-2 tbsp Vegetable oil
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Pepper
  • 500 ml Milk
  • 50 g Butter
  • 50 g Flour
  • 50 g Mozzarella
  • 50 g Cheddar
  • 800 g Macaroni pasta
  • 1 single Onion diced
  • 1/2 bulb Celeriac diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic crushed

Optional Ingredients

  • 1 single Courgette grated
  • 30 g Fresh herbs
  • 30 g Parmesan
  • 30 g Cream Cheese
